Medical Education Program for Faculty Development (Med Ed Series 101)

At the end of the session, participants should be able to

- Define learner assessment (formative vs. summative), grading & program evaluation

- Explain the rationale (why) and the content (what) of assessment tools

- Describe how to implement a system of workplace-based assessment, (including criterion- vs. norm-based assessment & how assessment becomes just grading)

- Outline how validity is used/considered in assessment system
